It’s Almost Dry - Pusha T
Pusha T makes his triumphant return with the menacing It’s Almost Dry, his first album following the acclaimed Daytona in 2018. Reunited with Pharrell, who produced the album, Pusha maintains his iconic haunting and steady flow, heavy on clarity and annunciation. A standout track, “Just So You Remember,” is a masterclass in the use of the sample; here he borrows isolated vocals from Colonel Bagshot’s 1971 song “Six Day War” for the refrain. On “Neck and Wrist” Pusha manages to outshine rap legend Jay-Z’s feature, and the punchy “Brambleton” is also phenomenal. The cadence and character of Pusha T is still going strong in the newest accomplishment in his 20 year career.
